SECOND BRIGADE

COL Paul Vaughn, Commander

The Second Brigade of the Indiana Guard Reserve, commanded by COL Paul Vaughn, is headquartered at the Indiana National Guard Armory in Lafayette, Indiana. The area of responsibility for the Second Brigade is the northwest quadrant of the State of Indiana. 2nd Brigade currently has responsibility for providing Armory Support Teams for seventeen of the sixty-four Army National Guard armories in Indiana. The seventeen are located at; Attica, Boswell, Crawfordsville, Darlington, Delphi, Frankfort, Gary, Hammond, La Porte, Lafayette, Lebanon, Logansport, Michigan City, Monticello, Remington, Rensselaer, and Valparaiso.

The Second Brigade meetings are held once a month on a Saturday. These meeting usually are training sessions covering the duties which would be performed should Indiana Army National Guard units be activated at any of the seventeen armories for which 2nd Brigade is responsible for furnishing support. All personnel in all units are expected to attend an Annual Field Training weekend each fall, held at Camp Atterbury. This encampment covers such training subjects as Armory Management, Family Assistance, Armory Support Activities, Communications, and other facets of the unit's missions.
